Terms & Conditions

Overview
These terms govern your use of the Cortexley website at https://cortexley.com and, where a separate written agreement does not exist, describe the general basis on which Cortexley provides services. By using this website or engaging our services you accept these terms.
Website use
The content on this website is provided for general information only. We make no warranties, express or implied, about its completeness, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Nothing on this site constitutes professional legal, financial, or technical advice.
You may not copy, redistribute, or republish any content from this site without written permission. Portfolio images remain the property of Cortexley or the respective clients.
Service engagements
Formal engagements for ecommerce development, custom software, web development, design, or AI automation are governed by a separate statement of work or client agreement signed by both parties. In the absence of such a document, these general terms apply.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Cortexley retains the right to reference completed client work — project name, category, and description — in its portfolio. Confidential or NDA-bound work is excluded.
Intellectual property
On full payment of agreed fees, all custom code and design assets created specifically for a client project are assigned to the client. Open-source libraries, third-party components, and Cortexley’s pre-existing tooling remain under their respective licences and are not transferred.
Payment
Payment schedules and methods are agreed per engagement. Overdue invoices may attract a late payment fee of 2% per month after 30 days, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to pause work on accounts with outstanding balances.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cortexley is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of this website or from services provided. Our total liability for any claim arising from a service engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement.
Third-party services
Projects may incorporate third-party platforms (Shopify, AWS, Formspree, and others). Those platforms operate under their own terms of service and pricing, which may change. Cortexley is not responsible for changes to third-party platform availability or cost.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction agreed upon in the relevant client agreement. Where no jurisdiction is specified, disputes will be resolved under the laws of the jurisdiction agreed upon between the parties.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always at cortexley.com/terms/ with the date of last update noted above.
